Employee Well-Care Center Opening Soon
Powered by Marathon Heath
Later this fall, BPS employees and their families will have free access to a Well-Care Center conveniently located on the campus of the Educational Services Facility (ESF) in Viera. Two more centers are scheduled to open in other parts of the county later this school year. In spring, centers will open near Central Middle
in Melbourne and Jackson Middle in Titusville. Schedules allow for both short, 15 minute appointments and longer 30 minute appointments depending on the need, Mark Langdorf, director of employee benefits explained. “There’s very little wait time,” he said.
These Well-Care Centers will offer a clinical staff licensed to diagnose, treat, and prescribe for a wide variety of common illnesses and minor injuries as well as coaching for health risks and chronic conditions. The health centers will be operated by Marathon Health, whose clinicians slow down the care process to build trust with each patient, allowing them to take time necessary to treat the whole person, not just a list of symptoms. Marathon Health staff also focus on the total wellness of a person to manage all factors that impact their health by
BPS Employee Health
creating wellness plans that help people reach their personal goals, no matter how minor or major the goal.
The Well-Care Centers will be located conveniently, and have no cost for preventive and primary care services. However, employees may continue to treat with their own physician under the BPS healthcare plan if they choose and employees may use the health center as a collaborative measure in addition to their current physician for health and wellness success.
The health centers will be a convenient place for BPS families to obtain preventive and sick care as well as health coaching and chronic condition coaching. For more information about onsite healthcare
