The boys tennis team are both the defending North Cape Coast Conference and District champions. With phenomenal youth and mature seniority in its squad, this year’s tennis team is set to once again take the titles home. After winning their latest home match against Rockledge, Edgewood boys tennis moves in the ranks to take the title of North Cape Coast Conference Champions, second year running. Team captain Ethan Graybeal, 11, attributes this year’s terrific results to the, “consistent dedication to show up to practice, work hard, and improve through match play and experiences throughout the season”. With only one more game left until districts begin, the boys are preparing physically and mentally for the make- it-or-break-it tournament.
“We’re having our best season ever,” team captain Karlie Lawrence, 10, said.
Under the leadership of Deborah Woodside and Julie Sutherlin, the girls tennis team beat their latest opponent, Cocoa Beach, to add to their winning record of 6 wins and three losses.
“Even though we will be a young team compared to our district opponents, our team can get the results if we leave it all on the court,” Lawrence said.

Track & Field
Under the supervision of ex-collegiate athlete Sharon Behler, the track team has already knocked out the majority of its meets with solid blows. Josh Kraver,11, and his 4x400 meter team broke an Edgewood record after knocking the original time down by an entire 20 seconds, a phenomenal feat. Seniors Margeaux Madeux and Peyton Corbin, along with Kalyn Sands, 11, and Kaylee Kraver, 9, took a solid second place finish in the 4x100 meter at the Reggie Johnson Memorial. A majority of the team’s members have qualified for districts and all of them have their eyes on making it to regionals. The best of luck and may your feet move as fast as you can will them to move.
