Lacrosse
Boys Varsity lacrosse started their season off with a great win against rival West Shore and have continued to improve as a team as they settle comfortably into the top 3 teams in the district. As the boys continue their season, Coach Dave Blumenthal is making sure to keep his players in shape to take the title home this year.
“We’re a very young team,“ Blumenthal said. “But to get far in districts, we must be committed to the things we need to do in order to be successful on the field.“
Led this year by Miranda Durham, 12, Maria Garcia, 11, and Maya West, 11, the defending districts champs for girls lacrosse are already making moves to make sure they come out number one again this year. In the first rivalry game of the season, Dani Dudley, 11, scored 3 out of the 13 goals to help give the girls the victory.
“I knew that West Shore was good, but I wasn’t expecting them to have a star player who ran their whole team. Personally, I could’ve scored more, made better passes, not taken left-handed shots, but overall I was satisfied with the result,” star middie, Dudley, said.
Keeping their eyes on getting out of the district, Coach Alan Clark has the team working overtime to maintain their high-level of intensity so come game time they run circles around the opponents. With 7 wins already under their belts, this year’s girls lacrosse team is poised to be taking trophies home.
