Black History Month Celebration
On Thursday, Feb. 28, Brevard County Government’s Team Diversity held its 6th Black History Month Celebration, this time focusing on “The Great Migration.”
"The Great Migration" was the movement between 1916 and 1970 of African Americans from the South to urban and industrial cities in the Northeast, Midwest and West to pursue employment opportunities and better lives.
The two-hour event, which included dancing, musical performances and a focus on key figures who were prominent during the Harlem Renaissance, was held in the Board of County Commissioners Chambers in Building C.
Team Diversity is thankful for all of the support the event received and hopes everyone enjoyed the event!
