an employee should separate from the district, their employee number will no longer be recognized by FUELMASTER.
Step 3 -- Odometer Check
You will be prompted to input the vehicle odometer reading; but only whole miles, no tenths. FUELMASTER will check this new odometer reading against the previous reading embedded in the Prokee to ensure the elapsed mileage is within an established mileage range your vehicle. For example, a passenger car should have no reason to dispense more than 50 gallons per day, while a school bus could use over 100 gallons per day.
Step 4 -- Correct Fuel Type
You will be prompted to select a “pump number.” This step is to ensure that the correct type fuel is being dispensed into the correct vehicle. Accidentally using the wrong fuel type can badly damage an engine.
Step 5 -- Lock Out
If any of the preceding four security protocols are not satisfied, FUELMASTER will lock out that Prokee for future transactions. It must be reset by Transportation Services for future use.
FIRST USE OF PROKEE
If you are using the Prokee assigned to your district vehicle for the first time, you may receive an error message that “odometer reading is too high.” This is because the Prokee does not yet have an odometer reading embedded in it for comparison. If this happens, it is easily corrected. Simply follow the FUELMASTER terminal prompt to re-enter the odometer reading. As long as you enter the same odometer reading the second time (think of this like establishing a new computer password) the terminal will accept it.
PROKEE SWITCHOVER
The new Prokee key fobs for all district vehicles have now been deployed to each department and school. If you do not yet have a Prokee
for your district vehicle, please contact your supervisor or vehicle coordinator. Once you have the Prokee, please begin using it immediately so that Transportation Services can troubleshoot problems and resolve any issues. APRIL 10th HAS BEEN SELECTED AS THE DATE THAT THE OLD PROXIMITY FOBS WILL BE DEACTIVATED. After this date, the proximity fobs will not work for dispensing fuel.
