Mars Explorers
BPS received a donation of 60 Giant Mars Maps from the Buzz Aldrin’s ShareSpace Foundation. All 56 BPS elementary schools will receive one 25x25 foot map and curriculum, empowering them to navigate their very own mission to planet Mars. The maps display coordinates, are color-coded to indicate elevation and are labeled to show landing sites of landers and rovers.
All BPS elementary schools received a Giant Mars Map.
BPS builds construction workforce
Many district students are benefiting from construction internship opportunities thanks to program sponsorship provided by the Home Builders & Contractors Association of Brevard. HBCA’s partners have also contributed resulting in varied, comprehensive internship experiences.

What’s Cool in Schools
BPS’ Florida Arts Model Schools
Longleaf Elementary, Saturn Elementary and McNair Magnet Middle each received designation as a Florida Arts Model School (FAMS) by the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Alliance for Arts Education for 2018 through
2021. The FAMS program recognizes schools that offer exemplary programs in any of the four arts disciplines and provides mentorship to an identified school with an emerging arts program. Longleaf Elementary earned the title in 2015 as well.
