I did some research to fill you in on what Brevard’s HOTTEST jobs are and what companies to watch for. Our partners at Career Source Brevard shared the 4 most popular up and coming industries in our county,
here is what they found.

Technology - Brevard County’s share of STEM employment was ranked
1st in Florida by the Brookings Institution and Milk- en Institute ranked Brevard County, Florida 6th in the U.S. for most concentrated high-tech economy. Major corporations call Brevard County home and this MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) ended up on Forbes’ first ranking of America’s Most Innova- tive Cities. The IT (Information Technology) Sector is important to Brevard and its future.

• Manufacturing - Brevard County has the 5th most concentrated high-tech workforce in the U.S. Advanced manufacturing growth and evolu- tion is expanding our opportunities. Exciting new companies are landing here, and corporate brand names are expanding too–such as Fortune 500 Company Harris Corporation–with an impressive new Technology Center and more than 6,000 em- ployees locally. Manufacturing talent has a home here. And workers wishing to change careers have great options on the Space Coast of Florida.

Brevard’s HOT Jobs
 Brevard County draws more than 2.5 million tourists annually and boasts 72 miles of pristine beaches and an average temperature of 73 degrees. We are lucky to live on Florida’s Space Coast. It is a great place to work and play. Brevard’s population continues to grow, now at 589,162 residents, but so has our work force. Giants in the industry are electing to invest here, including Blue Origin, OneWeb Satellites and Ruag; others have determined to increase their presence here: such as Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, Embrarer and others. Clusters of con- struction activity at Exploration Park in the North, Orlando-Melbourne International Airport and Port Canaveral attest to the power of aviation and aero- space in Brevard County on Florida’s Space Coast.

• Healthcare - A robust, quality healthcare sys- tem within Brevard County is vital for attracting new businesses to the local area as well as retaining existing local companies as access to quality care is a major factor in business location and relocation.
It is in everyone’s best interest who lives and works in Brevard County to ensure that local healthcare industry organizations thrive. With this in mind healthcare industry representatives, educational partners, workforce development entities and other community stakeholders have come together to form the Brevard Healthcare Workforce Consor- tium to develop a local healthcare sector strategy to identify and implement actionable strategies to strengthen the local healthcare talent pipeline.
