GED...opening doors to your future
Are you ready to take that next big step to go to col- lege, but you don’t have a high school diploma? Con- sider the GED®! The GED® is accepted by Eastern Florida State College and most other junior colleges
in the state. Once you graduate from EFSC, you are guaranteed a place in the State of Florida University system. To earn a State of Florida High School Di- ploma (GED®) you only have to pass the four subject GED®, high school equivalency test. Prep classes are available at all four Brevard County Adult Education Centers for only $30 a semester, or if you just feel like challenging the test, you can register at GED.com for $32 per section and schedule your test. However, with the classes, you get instruction geared toward the test and practice tests to see if you are ready for the test. You must be 18 years of age to challenge the test. If you are not 18 years of age you may get an age waiver by
enrolling into an Adult
Education program and
pass the practice test in
class, and working with
the counselors and administration at the center to get the paperwork started for the waiver.
GED® Testing is offered at the Clearlake Education Center in Cocoa, Fl just a few blocks from Eastern Florida State College. We offer testing weekdays from 8:30am till 4pm, and you can take one test at a time or choose to take 2 or 3 subjects in one day. When you come for testing always make sure to bring your state issued ID or you won’t be able to test and we must see it every time you test. Passing scores for each section is 145 and once you pass all 4 you have earned you State of Florida High School Diploma.
