historic Florida Theatre
merged with Theatreworks,

organization providing
touring children’s theatre
to local school audiences.

organizations to better serve

DeKalb, Illinois - The historic
Egyptian Theatre is underway
with a $6 million, two-story

expansion, which includes
a dramatic increase in
restrooms, concessions,
storage and most
importantly, the addition
of air conditioning for the
first time since the theatre
opened in 1929. Work got
underway May 2019 and

is set to be substantially
complete by May 2020.
