A Staycation at home may be the best idea for this summer
yet. Your home and couch can compete with a Cabo San Lucas cabana.
That sounds unusual, but it doesn’t mean you can’t have a relaxing,
totally restorative mini-break at home doing nothing and end up feeling
recharged, refreshed, and ready to dive back into your usual grind.
If your spring or
summer getaway seems
unlikely to happen
at this point for any
reason, consider these
suggestions for a
successful Staycation.
Eat like you are on
vacation. Most of your
favorite restaurants are
open for take out or delivery. Take advantage of this and enjoy that
great food at home.
Give your eyes a break from the day-to-day monotony by
switching up your surroundings. Moving your bed by the window and
reconfiguring the living room are small tweaks that can make a big
difference in how we experience our living spaces. From wall hangings
to scented candles, think big and consider the details. While your dream
trip to Costa Rica may be temporarily on hold for any reason, waking up
to a jungle wall mural in the living room is the next best thing - and just
as Instagrammable.
If you’re lucky enough to have yard space and somewhat
cooperative weather, don’t forget to include it in your grand redesign.
Toss an outdoor rug and some pillows on the lawn, and string some
Christmas lights up in the tree. Have your own lockdown luau with tiki
torches, lauhala mats, and of course, some really good Hawaiian food.
You get the idea. Create a unique environment and
splurge a little. Sleep in; after all you are on vacation.

Beach toys add fun
and excitement to any seaside
adventure. Popular choices
include buckets, and shovels
for building sandcastles. Kids
love digging, shaping, and
decorating their sandy creations.
Inflatable beach balls, paddle
sets, and flying discs offer
active play options for all ages.
Water guns and floaties make
splashing in the waves even
more enjoyable. Sifters and rakes
can spark curiosity about shells
and marine life. Many beach
toys are lightweight and easy
to carry in a mesh bag, making
them perfect for family outings.
Durable, colorful, and safe, beach
toys help create unforgettable
memories by the shore.
