                   Summary and Conclusions:

                   The paper asks that the Board note progress in the development of the Town
                   Investment Plan and key activities over the coming six weeks.

                   Recommendations:

                   It is recommended that the Town Deal Board:

                   1. Note the interim programme and priority activity over the coming six weeks.


                   Report

                   Since January 2020 work has being ongoing to progress the development of
                   our  Town  Investment  Plan.  This  has  seen  governance  arrangements  being
                   put in place, the Town Deal boundary agreed, vision and objectives agreed,
                   economist  support  procured,  communications  strategy  developed,  website
                   prepared,  socio economic narrative  created,  long  list  of projects developed,
                   appraisal  framework  agreed  and  implemented  and  documents  structure
                   agreed.

                   While detailed guidance around the development and submission of the deal
                   has  not  yet  been  received,  officers  have  been  in  dialogue  with  BEIS
                   colleagues  who  have  confirmed  broad  support  for  the  approach  being
                   followed working toward the submission of the plan in July, placing us in the
                   first tranche of Town Deal’s to be submitted nationally.

                   Appendix A to this report contains the latest interim programme supporting the
                   development of the Town Investment Plan.  Mindful of the need to maintain
                   momentum, over the next six weeks the following priority actions have been
                   identified:

                         Continued stakeholder engagement;
                         Commencing development of business cases for shortlisted projects;
                         Development of draft Town Investment Plan;
                         Commencement of economic appraisal activity; and
