Title: Town Deal Board – Communications and
Engagement Plan
Summary and Conclusions:
This paper updates the Board on activities since April, provides a brief
summary of relevant engagement activities and sets out a broad
communications and engagement plan for the period up to submission
Recommendations:
It is recommended that the Town Deal Board:
1. Agree the plan for communication and engagement to be delivered before
the application is submitted in July;
2. Agree the #BrilliantBarrow style guide (attached in Appendix B).
Report
1 Background
The Towns Deal Communications and Engagement group are meeting on a
weekly basis to manage and deliver community consultation to inform and
support the bidding process. As the Corona Virus national crisis continues
the group are planning for digital-only engagement as it seems unlikely that
face-to-face engagement will be possible
2 Progress and engagement to date:
Stakeholder Insight Report:
Hatch Regeneris have produced a Stakeholder Insight Report (attached as
Appendix A) which draws on the following:
Current sentiment on Barrow as expressed via online engagement
platforms using AI web-scraping tool called “Meltwater AI”;
Analysis of suggestions put forward by the community to the
#MyTowns portal (see below);
