Congratulatory Message
from
the Chairman of NIDA Council
On the Occasion of the 43rd Commencement Ceremony
On behalf of NIDA Council, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to this year's graduates. During the first commencement ceremony of the National Institute of Development Administration on 19th November 1970, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, graciously conveyed his royal address as follows:
“All of you who graduated from this Institute are regarded as having substantial knowledge and capability. You carry the hopes of all Thai people, including my own hopes. Your knowledge, thoughts, wisdom, and ability will bring about stability, prosperity, and well-being to our country. I thus ask each and every one of you to accept this honorable responsibility with confidence, care and selflessness as well as deploying your best endeavors to achieve all tasks, whether minor or major, with perseverance, integrity, and truthfulness both to yourselves and the general public”
[An unofficial translation of His Majesty's address to NIDA Class of 1970 at their graduation ceremony]
Over the past fifty-six years, graduates of this Institute have all embraced His Majesty's address in performing their duties. They have also kept abreast of advances in their areas of knowledge in order to remain in keeping with global changes and appropriately applied the knowledge gained in the service of the society with honesty, integrity, diligence, as well as moral and ethical values.
This 43rd commencement ceremony marks an auspicious milestone in the graduates' lives. I earnestly ask that the graduates utilize the knowledge and experience they have garnered for the benefit of the public at large, society and nation. They should do so with wisdom as a guiding light in line with the Institute's motto “No Light Like Wisdom”.
