WWW Concepts
What is WWW?
The World Wide Web (WWW) is an open source of
information space where documents and other web
resources are identified by URLs, interlinked by
hypertext links, and can be accessed via the Internet.
The amount of information available on the Internet
has become so large that it is difficult to search for
specific information. The World Wide Web (WWW)
makes retrieval easy and quick.
Usage of links to other sites and documents.
Built on the technology called Hypertext.
Hypertext is text which contains links to other texts.
Hypertext increases accessibility to linked documents
on the Internet and helps user to navigate between
documents very easily.
Once the appropriate document is retrieved the
connection is broken, there is no need of the link as
you view the requested content.
WWW lets us search, travel across, and use many
types of information at numerous sites and in multiple
forms. This interface is called a browser.
