winner of the heifer in milk class, was a youth full two year old heifer, with a great udder, and I’m sure she will develop into a great cow in the future, her day will come again. Honourable Mention went to the second placed in milk cow Drisgol Daisy 191.
May I thank the Royal Welsh Agricultural society for the kind invitation to judge at this prestigious Show once again at short notice.
It’s always a pleasure to judge at your home countries National Show. The Royal Welsh is one of the UK’S largest and most successful
Agricultural shows in the Country and long may it continue. My home county Ceredigion will be the hosting county for the show in 2024 and preparations are well under way to raise money for the show through various events such as concerts, Tractor Racing, Speed shear, Pantomime to name just a few.
May I take this opportunity also to thank our sponsors of the Dairy Shorthorn classes this year Mona Dairy, and wish them well with their new venture with a brand new state of the art Dairy in Anglesey. I would also like to thank my stewards for
their assistance in bringing in the classes on time and keeping me
on the straight and narrow. But I must also thank the most important people of any successful show, the exhibitors, breeders and handlers for bringing out such high quality animals in front of me to judge at the show. The standard was very high throughout the classes, and may I encourage other breeders
to participate in next years show to further strengthen the classes. You will be most welcome to join the Shorthorn Family after all this is a Family event and long may it continue for the future.
