HEIFER IN MILK CLASS
I led off this class with a tremendous heifer, I gave her the best udder award in the class. She had plenty
of strength through out, I have to admire her for her hard level top
line and correct rump structure and width of chest, and this carries on through to her rump, and for her quality of udder. And it was her overall dairy strength that gave her the advantage over the clean dairy heifer in second, and being wider through the chest, stronger through the crops and far more power throughout. And what an udder, I gave her the advantage on the day in having a tighter snugger fore udder, and a higher wider rear udder and showed far greater bloom of rear udder and being far more level in the udder floor.
Second over the third I gave her the advantage in her overall dairyness, being far sharper over the shoulder over the long powerful heifer in third. When coming to her udder she displays far more defined median suspensory ligament, and her teats are placed far more perpendicular on the udder floor.
Third over the fourth I gave her a distinct advantage in being far wider throughout the chest and overall body and has far greater sweep and openness of rib. When coming to her udder, she displayed far more
bloom of udder being full of milk and far greater height and width and bloom of rear udder over the fourth. Taking nothing away from this sweet white heifer in fourth that I greatly admired for her overall dairyness throughout.
JUNIOR COW IN MILK - I head this class of junior cows in milk with an exceptional roan, third calved cow, she’s a beautiful well balanced dairy cow with a tremendous udder and I gave her the best udder in the class. And best exhibitor bred. I gave her the advantage today in her mammary
system, having a tighter snugger
fore udder and also a higher wider rear udder, and carries her milk far higher in the udder than my second, possessing a far superior teat quality and placement with far more distance between front and rear teat when viewed from the side.
The second over the third, I admired this white cow in second over the third for her overall dairyness throughout.
I gave her the advantage over the
third in being far more level over the top line and showing far more sweep and openness of rib, and it was this powerful dairy frame and quality and bloom of udder that gave her the advantage over the long dairy young cow in third. Taking nothing away from this cow in third who I greatly admired for her overall dairy qualities and youthful udder.
SENIOR COW IN MILK - I head this class with a real handy winner, my type of cow, a clean correct dairy cow, I gave her the best udder in the class, and exhibitor bred award. I gave her the advantage over the second in her quality of udder, possessing a tighter snugger fore udder and possessing
a far stronger median suspensory ligament and a higher and wider rear udder. And her quality of teat and teat placement, with her teats being placed far more perpendicular on the udder floor.
