SEPTEMBER MAJOR’S BRIDGE BELTEX FLOCK
FAVOURED IN BALLYMENA
Major’s Bridge Headstrong from William and Bobby Porter’s Flock was favoured at the Ballymena Beltex Show and Sale
on Monday 11 September, taking top prize for the Maghera breeders.
Champion Beltex at the Ballymena Show and Export was a
shearling ram, Major’s Bridge Headstrong pictured with breeder
Bobby Porter and judge Gary Scott.
Major’s Bridge Headstrong won his class and took Male
Champion before being tapped out as Overall Champion by
judge Gary Scott. His dam is Major’s Bridge Chunky but Funky
and he is sired by Beachy Freddy Krueger, a purchase for the
flock from Carlisle Sale in 2020.
Reserve and Male Champion was Sean Daly’s Glenview Hector.
The shearling ram from Glenview Flock, Gortin, was among top
priced in the ring, making 420gns and heading to Patrick
Sheerin, Donemana.
The Female Champion was John and Victoria Ferguson’s
shearling ewe, Vicky’s Hammond, who sold to Robin Gilmour,
Ballyclare.
Top priced sheep was on the day was an aged ram from K & A
McCarthy’s Ballycreelly Flock, which sold to JF McCoome for
525gns.
