DUNGANNON IN-LAMB SALE
121
Leading the Irish Beltex Sheep Breeders Club’s show and
sale of females at Dungannon Farmers Mart on Friday, 15
December, were the top two prize winners but in a switch
around of placings it was the Reserve Champion that
topped the trade at 1900gns.
That was Artnagullion Hana, a Rathbone Eagle Has Landed
daughter from Elizabeth McAllister’s Kells, Ballymena-based
flock. Bred from the Graham’s Ringo-sired Artnagullion Tit, Hana
stood second in the shearling ewe class before claiming the
Reserve Champion ticket and selling for that 1900gns to
Douglas Nisbet, Loughbrickland.
Hitting 1000gns was Matthre Burleigh’s first prize gimmer and
Overall Champion, Matt’s Hally Berry ET, from the flock near
Shanra, Enniskillen. By the Buckles Fizzy Pop that has been a
consistent breeder and out of the Hackney Wonderboy-sired
Carrigans Dacia, Halle Berry caught the eye of the judge, Russell
Tinney, in the show ring and later on in the sale ring when he
secured her for his Dunduff Flock near Manorcunningham.
Hugh and Eddie O’Neill, from Glenarm, Ballymena, saw their
Lagyveagh Hopscotch sell for 550gns. Full of home breeding,
this Lagyveagh Everest daughter is out of a Kingledores Alfonso
daughter.
