KENDAL IN-LAMB SALE
123
Stuart Wood’s shearling ewe proved to be the star attraction
at the Beltex Sheep Society’s show and sale at North West
Auctions’ Kendal centre on Saturday, 6 January, when she
not only secured the Championship at the pre-sale show
but went on to sell for the top price of 1800gns.
Picked out by the judge, Ali Jackson, of the Tiptop Flock, Woodies
Happy Girl ET from the Aberdeenshire flock is BY Vicky’s Gladiator
and out of the Airyolland Watchman-sired Airyolland Avril
Lavigne. Scanned with a pair to the 12,000gns Swffryd
Eyecatcher, she was knocked down to Martin and Hannah Pedley
for their High Ploughland Flock near Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria.
Stuart saw his very next lot, Woodies Hottie ET, sell to D
Wightman and A Mason, Burton, Cumbria, for 650gns. Carrying
a pair to Vicky’s Gladiator, this Vogue Fastrac daughter is out of
Arnagullion Butterfly, herself by Ardstewart Armani.
Andrew Morton’s dearest from the Lochend, Denny-based flock
was his Ainstable Earnest daughter, Mortons Henrietta ET, which
scanned a pair to Mortons Gremlin. Selling to Ben Cowton for
his Benny’s Flock near Tow Law, Bishop Auckland, she is out of
the Langlands Bruiser-sired Woodwick Duchess.
Celebrating a good trade with his Tercrosset Flock from near
Brampton was James Whiteford whose Tercrosset Hocus Pocus
ET led his entry at 700gns when sold to JB Bousfield, also from
Kirkby Stephen, carrying twins. Her pedigree includes Faughhill
Freddy Kreuger on to Tercrosset Bambi, an Airyolland Nailer
daughter.
The Reserve Champion, the Ardstewart Coyote-sired Tercrosset
Helter Skelter ET, sold to M Wilcock, North Ashton, Wigan, for
680gns. Her dam is the Woodies Bobbydazzler-bred Tercrosset
Darcy and she scanned a single.
At 650gns and scanned with a pair was Tercrosset Hetti, an
Artnagullion daughter bred from Tercrosset Buttercup. She sold
to JA Drake, Denholme, Bradford.
