GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOW
41
11 - 14
JULY
brought out by son Christopher. The Ribys, who were delighted
to win their class let alone claim any further tickets, bred this boy
naturally out of Rathbone Freya, a Rathbone Tony daughter,
while his sire is Lakeview Doozer.
Matching her ticket at the Royal Highland Show to stand Reserve
Female was Procters Fabulous, an aged ewe from the Procters
team of Jeff, Jen, Katie and Robbie Aiken. Her pedigree also
features Rathbone genetics, being by Rathbone Desperado and
out of Procters Adele, a Rathbone Wallace daughter.
The Procters team also won the first class of the day for aged
rams with Faughhill Francisco, a Ryder DIY son bred from
Faughhill Daenerys Stormborn.
Rachael Story had plenty to celebrate too, winning both the Pairs
and Group of Three classes.
The show’s addition of pairs of lambs proved popular and a duo
of ewe lambs from Procters did exceptionally well, winning the
Inter-breed Ewe Lamb Championship before going on to stand
Reserve Supreme.
Again, not to be outdone, the young breeders shone in the
Young Handlers sections as Katie Aiken headed up the MV
section to win the Hannah Brown Trophy while Jack Whiteford
won in the non-MV section.
