Greg Halsted, PE. Greg is the Manager of Pavement and Geotechnical Markets for the
Portland Cement Association (PCA). He is responsible for expanding market share for use of
portland cement in all paving and engineered cement applications. He has over 20 years
of experience in the use of cement in the pavements, geotechnical, and concrete industry,
with knowledge of planning, design, materials testing, and construction; has participated
in numerous training and construction workshops involving transportation agencies, Public
Works departments, Universities, material suppliers, and consulting firms; and has authored
several publications related to cement and concrete construction. Prior to joining PCA,
he held civil and geotechnical engineering positions with the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute and the
Georgia Department of Transportation.
Jie Han, PhD. Dr. Han is the Glenn L. Parker Professor of Geotechnical Engineering in the
Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering Department at the University of Kansas.
He received his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology
He has gained extensive teaching, research, and industry experiences in geosynthetics,
ground improvement, pile foundations, buried structures, and roadways. Prof. Han is the
sole author of the book entitled “Principles and Practice of Ground Improvement” and has
published more than 450 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. Prof. Han is the
chair of the TRB Transportation Earthworks Committee.
Jiong Hu, PhD. Dr. Hu is an Associate
Professor in the Department of Civil
Engineering at the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln. He received his
BSc and MSc degree from Southeast
University, China, and his Ph.D.
degree from Iowa State University.
Before joining the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln, Dr. Hu was an assistant and
associate professor at Texas State University.
Bradley Keelor. Brad became the
third Director of the Geo-Institute
of ASCE in November 2015. As
Director of G-I, Keelor is responsible
for day to day operations of the
society and management of the
Geo-Institute Board. He has spent
his entire career in the gover.ment
and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining ASCE, he spent
seven years at the British Embassy in Washington, DC,
as part of the UK’s Science and Innovation Network,
building UK-US research collaboration in all disciplines.
Prior to the Embassy, Keelor spent seven years at
various nonprofits, in professional development,
education, and government relations roles. He holds
a BA in International Relations from Saint Joseph’s
University and an MA in International Commerce
and Policy from George Mason University.
