Department of Electrical Engineering




         Introduction
       Department of Electrical Engineering, founded in 1967, was a part of Kaohsiung Institute of Technology. It started 4-year
       college program in 1997, master program in 2001, and doctoral program 2003. Since 2018, due to the combination of
       National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, National Kaohsiung First University of Sciences and Technology, and
       National  Kaohsiung  Marine  University,  it  is  now  being  part  of  the  National  Kaohsiung  University  of  Sciences  and
       Technology, and starts Graduate Program in Intelligent Automation Systems.

         Program and Research Areas

       Features
       1.IEET Accreditation on Engineering and Technology Education since 2007.
       2.Complete programs including 2-year college program, 4-year college program, master program, doctoral program.
       3.Over  10000  square  meter  research  and  teaching  space,  including  classrooms,  lecture  hall,  research  laboratories,  and
       teaching laboratories.
       4.Industry Professional Assessment System (iPAS) examination hall of electrical vehicle mechatronics engineer, offering
       training courses for both students and industrial partners.
       5.Keeping on improving teaching, join New Engineering Education Method Experiment & Construction project
       Programs
       Research focus on power, control and information science areas.
       1.Power Engineering Group: smart grid, power electronics and motor drive。
       2.Control Engineering Group: automatically-optical inspection and intelligent robots.
       3.Information Science and Communication: intelligent computation application, and artificial intelligence innovation.

       Honors
       1.Student competition: 14 awards in 2018, 15 awards in 2017, 15 awards in 2016.
       2.Honghong Lin won the 14th award of the 2018 technical glory from the Ministry of Education.
       3.Nine professors received the 2019 annual research grants from the Ministry of Science and Technology.
       4.Prof.  Li  Junhong  got  a  project  about  the  Innovation  of  Augmented  Intelligence  Commercial  applications  from  the
       Ministry of Education.
       5.Prof. Dai Hong-Jie leads student team to won the official competition for automatic analysis of biomedical (AI CUP).
       6.Prof. Lee Jun-Hong won the championship in the 2020 Technology Competition Platform and AI Dialogue.
       Industrial Co-op
       1.Industrial  partner  including  National  Health  Research  Institutes,  Institute  for  Information  Industry,  ITRI,  NCSIST,
       Taiwan  Power,  CSBC, ASE  Technology, ASMC,  KYEC,  Google,  Micro  Soft,  Fukuta  Motor,  Kymco,  Tongtai, AIDC,
       Veterans General Hospital, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital.
       2.Holding Mechatronics And Automation Control Industrial-Academic Cooperation Program.
       Career
       Graduates  can  develop  their  careers  towards  technology  industries  and  civic  institutions  such  as  power,  control,
       optoelectronics,  information,  and  electromechanical  integration.  They  can  hold  positions  including  electric  vehicle
       electromechanical  integration  engineer,  power  system  engineer,  solar  energy  engineer,  instrumentation  engineer,  wind
       energy engineer,  Electrical control engineer, factory planning engineer, smart manufacturing engineer, robotic engineer,
       optical  inspection  engineer,  photoelectric  process/test  engineer,  artificial  intelligence  engineer,  automation/equipment
       engineer, system/application development engineer, network management engineer, image processing engineer, Database
       engineer, etc.
