To practice international cooperation with industries, we actively seek and expand
international development opportunities with our sister schools. Up to 2020, we have
established exchange agreements with more than 400 sister schools in 29 countries among
5 continents. The connections with sister schools not only promote industry-academia
collaboration but also setting up of industrial laboratories (research centers);which is
beneficial to broaden students’ horizons and advance teachers’ research quality. Our
teachers will join this collaboration in the future to operate and further the exchange
programs.
The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 had great impact on the global economy, but with the
effective epidemic control in Taiwan, international students were able to come to study in
Taiwan. By helping the hundreds of international and overseas Chinese students coming to
NKUST, they did not need to worry about the expense for quarantine, NKUST had paid for
the them in advance. Therefore they could compensate it with volunteer service after
settled down everything and started their study comfortably.
We strive to excel with our mission “BEST” and “WISH”. BEST means to become the think
tank in Kaohsiung (Brain), the engine in industry (Engine), the base of Southbound (South)
and to unite our university together (Together), while WISH is to cultivate talents to be well
rounded (Whole person), mobile globally (Internationally Mobility), have continuous
learning (Sustainable learning) and be caring (Humanity). We hope to attract more
international students in the future so we can train more talents for the world and do better
civil diplomacy for Taiwan.
