(xxix)_leaving the balance (saved) for the works required to be done by the lessees’ requests/demands, electrics, lighRng, emergency lighRng etc etc of £31,765
f)_ In a le)er from Solicitor Begg to MHML (PBC) dated 21 June 2016 - he writes: At last we seem to be ge[ng a li:le closer to what has actually happened here.
And since you insist repeatedly that you have nothing to hide, please will you now specify, in respect of each of these items {as well as any included within your final "a lot more" sweeper item):
(a) the specific lessee who requested that the work be done; and
Mrs Hillgarth (see a:ached Wade & Hemi quotes - and source GRANGEWOOD quote.
(b) the specific contractor who carried out the work; and
MHML and their various sub-contractors.
(c) the amount charged by that contractor (including yourself where relevant).
£31,765.21 (this was obviously a generic response in answer to a generic ques=on
and nor intoning a £31,765.21 invoice from MHML)
Assuming the total expenditure figure of £105,877 per the Service Charge Accounts is correct, the total amounts paid to contractors other than the surveyor and AR Lawrence should add up to £33,354. If they do not, please explain why not.
(comment/reply on le:er of reply) The £105,877 figure includes (your Witness Statement anomaly of non payment/refusing to pay) £1590 due to AR Lawrence once final snagging is accomplished, plus £31,765.21
g)_ In a le)er from Solicitor Begg to MHML (PBC) dated 7 July 2016 - he writes:
You have told me (when & where unless referring to above generic response?) that the total amount charged by MHML to the lessees in respect of the refurbishment was £31,765.21. As you insist you have nothing to hide, my ques=ons are:
(a) How much was charged by you personally to MHML for the work you did on the refurbishment?
(reply) I don’t consider that a valid query (see comment at end of doc).
(b) What profit did MHML make on the £31,765.21 it charged to the lessees for the refurbishment? In other words what was the difference between the £31,765.21 it charged to the lessees and the total amount paid by MHML to its sub-contractors?
(reply) I don’t consider that a valid query. (see comment at end of doc).
h)_ In a le)er from MHML (PBC) to Solicitor Begg dated 7 July 2016 - he writes:
Had Mrs Hillgarth’s addiRonal workings been included in the AR Lawrence iniRal quote, it would have added well over £50,000, including vat and fees hopefully, and consequently was totally unaffordable. MHML did (accomplish would be a be)er word) all for only £31,756.21, so saving Mrs Hillgarth, and all lessees including myself and my fellow
directors, approximately £18,000 + most likely.
