BA Brief History of
Buckland Newton Place
18th Century Buckland Newton Place
18th century records for Buckland Newton are rather sparse but it is believed that an early resident of the vicarage (and possibly the first ever resident) was a gentleman by the name of Timothy Collins.
The Reverend Timothy Collins
Born circa 1688, the Reverend Timothy Collins was the vicar of Buckland Newton in the early 18th century and also the Rector of Stickland close by.
Timothy Collins, with his wife Cornelia and their daughter Cornelia, have a large table top tomb at Buckland Newton’s Holy Rood Church.
