In 1973, Flat 6 was at the centre of a scandal when Police raided the flat and arrested three prostitutes including Norma Levy who had recorded her conversations with then MP Lord Lambton of them talking about drugs and she had also captured them on film cavorting naked with another young prostitute called Kim.The News of the World decided not to pursue the story and Levy sold it to The People, which handed the material to the police.The pictures caused a furore in Downing Street, in White Hall and nearly brought down Edward’s Heath govern- ment in Westminster. Lambton who had previously written critically about the Profumo affair a decade previously promptly resigned his office and his parliamentary seat which he had represented since 1951.
