IN PRODUCTION
A KIND OF MAGIC
FLYING MOTORCYCLES? A TREE-CLIMBING PIGLET? IT HAS TO BE NANNY MCPHEE AND THE BIG BANG
t took screenwriter and star Emma Thompson seven Iyears to get Nanny McPhee into production. But with
a resulting $130 million worldwide gross for the heart-warming 2005 family comedy, it was surely only a matter of time before the sequel beckoned.
“Four years to write this one,” sighs Thompson,
now also Executive Producer, as she observes on the monitor a frantic scene between Maggie Gyllenhaal and Rhys Ifans both rushing down a carefully dressed village set in leafy Hambleden, on the Bucks-Oxon border.
