Who were the most influential
people in your career to date,
i.e. cinematographer, director, etc.?
The people who have influenced me most are without doubt Brian Tufano BSC and Sean Bobbitt BSC, who gave me the great opportunity to work on their shoots and learn from them as well as receive sound advice when I needed it most.

What are your current and
future projects?
My recent work has included a short film called This Is What Ralph Does, directed by Alex Winkler and shot entirely using ETERNA Vivid 160T on location in Mar- seilles, along with some second unit work for DP Vernon Layton BSC on Gone Fishing, directed by Chris Jones, and some B cam- era work for DP Baz Irvine on Chiwetel Ejio- for’s short film Slapper.
I am currently shooting a short in Dublin about a guy who goes a little crazy after his girlfriend leaves him and he starts talking to his Christmas tree, I chose ETERNA Vivid 160T for the studio shots and ETERNA 500T for the night exterior.
I have various projects in the pipeline
with both directors of my graduation films
from the NFTS, along with my first
feature film in Cuba with Director

What are your current and
future projects?
I’m currently working on a feature documentary due for cinematic release called Fayed Vs The Windsors. Its taken me all over the place and to meet all sorts. I’ve loved getting involved with longer format
How did you get into this industry, any family connections?
“I’ve worked and am working hard to get into this industry. I came to it late and with no connections.
I studied Medicine at Sheffield Uni for five years and worked as a junior doctor in Leeds and Barnsley. During my degree I had decided to try and work in film and shot a few shorts which were shown locally and with which I attained a place, a few years later, at the London Film School.
They helped further my photographic knowledge and practice and gave me the op- portunity to work on many shorts with many directors all over the world.
What was your favourite job
to date and any unusual anecdotes whilst working?
This has to be The Oates Valor. Apart from it being shot in Los Angeles in the sun, it was a fantastic experience. We shot in the city’s drainage system with a young child actor and had to hide the signs threatening six months prison or $1000 fine. We lowered the kit and actor on ropes 30ft down while his mum was taken to lunch. It was the shot of the film too. The Oates Valor went on to be selected in competition for Sundance and Cannes, a first I believe.

I’ve many influences in film as well as art but I would put Roger Deakins, Darius Khondji, Gordon Willis, Lance Acord, Vittorio Storaro and John Alonzo right on top.

What is your experience of working with Fujifilm stock?
I’ve used Fujifilm many times for commer- cials as well as shorts. I was partic-
ularly happy with Pudding Bowl, a
short shot on Fujicolor ETERNA
16mm stock. I’m a big fan of the ” ETERNA Vivid 160T too.
