Short Ends World Film Festival
T he first ever Short Ends World Film Festival was held
October 16-23. The festival concentrated specifically on the work of film schools from
around the world.
There were eight official awards
including Best Fiction Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film, Best Animation Short Film, Best Experimental Short Film/ Best Video Art and the Best British Short Film.
Fujifilm were delighted to be a part of this inaugural event and donated Fujicolor Motion Picture stock to the
winners of the Best Fiction Short Film which were jointly: Treitum (School: Esac. Director: Javier Ruiz. Spain. 15min) and Under The Rainbow (School: Afda; Director: Dean Blumberg. South Africa. 18min)
Two British film schools picked up awards. The National Film & Television School won Best Animation Short Film: 1+1, directed by Grigoris Leontiades, and The London Film School won the Best Documentary Short Film for Outside In, directed by Alessandro Pepe. ■

two months to programme and design plus a lot of hard work!
