david w. herlinger
direct effect awards
To share the 40th anniversary
excitement with its nonprofit partners,
CHFA created the David W. Herlinger
Direct Effect Awards. The awards
invited Colorado nonprofits working
to strengthen affordable housing and
economic development to apply for
one of four available $10,000 grants.
The awards were named after CHFA’s
longest-serving executive director,
David W. Herlinger. Mr. Herlinger’s
direct style and passion inspired
lasting partnerships and a legacy of
innovation that helped meet the needs
of Colorado’s underserved populations,
leaving an indelible mark on the state.
The Direct Effect Awards serve as a
reminder of the impact that committed
and passionate organizations can
make by working together towards a
common goal.
Each of the following organizations
received a $10,000 award from CHFA to
help them in furthering their missions:
La Plata Homes Fund, Inc., Durango
The Residences at Eaton Senior
Communities, Lakewood
Rocky Mountain Community Land
Trust, Colorado Springs; and
San Luis Valley Development
Resources Group, Alamosa.
