In 2007, a food gathering event benefiting
Bienvenidos Food Bank began an annual
tradition of giving affectionately named “Beans
and Rice” or “Bean Bagging for Bienvenidos.”
Each year, CHFA volunteers bag up hundreds of
pounds of pinto beans—and in years past, rice
also—and deliver it to the food bank.
