Big Bay

Big Bay beach is one of the many beaches
the city of Cape Town has to offer. With an
abundance of holiday inns and catering
facilities scattered across the shoreline, Big Bay
is truly a tourist’s dream destination.

Sporting its unique views available only in Cape Town,
Big Bay has been a popular destination for most beach
goers for generations. Nowhere else in the world could

you spot the breath-taking sunsets over the low-lying Robben
Island and the crashing clouds caught on our 7th wonder of the
world that is Table Mountain. It is not uncommon to see friends and family taking in the views on
offer and enjoying each other’s company over a cold beverage and great meal.

Although the waters may be cold due to the Bengula current, most brave Cape Townians will
fearlessly embrace the almost arctic temperatures for an enjoyable afternoon in the water. On days
too windy the local families, you might expect to find the Cape shorelines empty. These days are
often, if not always, seen to bring another level of beach goer to Big Bay’s shores. Those brave
enough to take on unheard of speeds and gravity defying heights will turn to their trusty kite and hit
the waves without a moment to waste. Big Bay’s Kite surfing community has grown exponentially
over the years due to the location’s prime conditions. With international competitions such as the
Red Bull King of the Air having made their way to Big Bay, the ever-growing kite surfing community
show no signs of leaving any time soon!

As for the property market in the area, Big Bay predominantly consists of
homes within estates (55,58%) or sectional title property (39,98%) and
only 4,43% freehold property. Due to the Big Bay property marketing
needing to meet the increasing demand of those interested, most homes
in the area are no older than 10 years old.

If you are looking to make the big move, why not find an area with an
abundance of convenient shopping locations? Why not find an area with
high quality schooling nearby? Why not find an area that offers a
different activity for every weekend of the year? Big Bay may just be answer you are looking for.
