Dec 7 ~ Share your passion for pollinators by helping our native plant garden thrive! Activities include planting, weeding, spreading wood chips, and general site cleanup. The native plant landscape includes wildflowers, grasses, sedges, trees, forbes and herbaceous plants. No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn about native plants. Training and tools will be provided, plus abundant and hearty snacks! Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty. RSVP only if you are planning on bringing a group of 5 or more. Pick Your Own Garden Produce - Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue Garden Club. Community Supported Agriculture program. $20 per month or $200 per year, you are entitled to come weekly and pick a bag of the freshest vegetables from our Wildlife Education Garden. Native Plant Nursery: propagating native plants and grasses. Tree Pruning: the majority of these tasks occur during December and January. Our water-wise demonstration gardens and food forests in Petaluma, Sebastopol, Windsor, and Cotati can only do their job of inspiring change when they are well maintained. These intimate programs offer the chance to get to know neighbors and staff more closely, learn the hidden secrets of each garden, and soak up the seasons. We’ll get our hands in the soil with easy garden maintenance like weeding, mulching, deadheading and planting. We’ll also present a plant of the month to satisfy your educational yearnings!
