VISUAL ARTS cont’d on page 67
Regionally known for his North Bay (especially Sonoma County) landscapes, Lance Kuehne traditionally offers portraits of the place we live in and love.
However, this show strays a bit from the norm. It is incredibly diverse, with subjects ranging from the 2017 eclipse photographed in Oregon to fallen leaves on water, from Napa’s Paris-like gargoyles to the Golden Gate and Bay bridges. But not to worry—more characteristic landscapes are on view as well.
His Solstice-Twilight, catching just the top of a Golden Gate bridge tower with its line-and-form simplicity, edges very close to abstraction. Lance’s capacity for the unusual perspective augments this show along with his great eye for landscapes.
especially for the Second Saturday reception on December 8, from 5:00 to 8:00. He will be happy to tell tales about each image. He also points out that in addition to photographs and paintings of all sizes, the gallery offers a variety of three-dimensional works, all great Holiday gift options.
thru Dec 29 ~ Gualala Salon and Salon des Refusés. The largest number of entries of open call shows filling the Burnett Gallery & Elaine Jacob Foyer. Free, M-F 10a-4p, Gualala Arts Center, 46501 Old State Highway, Gualala, gualalaarts.org/2018/11/2018-gualala- salon-and-salon-des-refuses/

“My show features a few of my most recent works. It centers around the
time I was a high school
teacher, which slowed me down, but didn’t stop my photographing. I am still
thousands of pictures behind on editing. The photographs in the show were
taken between late 2015 and early 2017. Each image was either printed for the Museum, 20 4th St, Petaluma,
first time while I was a teacher or was photographed while I was a teacher.” As Riverfront’s co-owner, Lance invites the community to the gallery,
