Occdental Arts & Ecology Garden Volunteer Day - Sink your hands into the beautiful, rich soil and learn from the diversity of plant life in our 40-year-old Mother Garden. You can come for part or all of the day. Volunteer lunch: Our chefs create an organic, vegetarian meal harvested from our gardens at 12:30p. What to bring: hat, sunscreen, extra layers or rain gear depending on season, sturdy shoes and water bottle. Please Note: we cannot accommodate a group of 6 people or more without prior arrangement. Children are welcome but must be able to participate in adult work. Please supervise your child at all times. Laguna Foundation ~ Share your passion for pollinators by helping our native plant garden thrive! Activities include planting, weeding, spreading wood chips, and general site cleanup. The native plant landscape includes wildflowers, grasses, sedges, trees, forbes and herbaceous plants. No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn about native plants. Training and tools will be provided, plus abundant and hearty snacks! Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty. RSVP only if you are planning on bringing a group of 5 or more. Larkfield Community Garden Work Day ~ Lend a helping hand at the garden on the 3rd Saturday of every month! Our volunteer workdays for the entire family are a fun and healthy way to make new friends while learning how to tend the soil, grow local food and participate in environmental stewardship. Sonoma Garden Park. We are also looking for our Chicken Team: letting our chickens out in the morning, feeding and filling water stations, collecting eggs, cleaning the coop. Flower Team: maintain our cutting garden and insectaries sowing seeds, record-keeping, transplanting, preparing fields, deadheading, mulching, and weeding. Native Plant Nursery: propagating native plants and grasses. Tree Pruning: the majority of these tasks occur during December and January. Drop-in volunteers are welcome (all new volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation before dropping-in). Heavy rain will cancel a volunteer workday. Daily Acts Monthly Garden Days - Join us for our monthly volunteer days to give our model sites some love! Our water-wise demonstration gardens and food forests in Petaluma, Sebastopol, Windsor, and Cotati can only do their job of inspiring change when they are well maintained. These intimate programs offer the chance to get to know neighbors and staff more closely, learn the hidden secrets of each garden, and soak up the seasons. We’ll get our hands in the soil with easy garden maintenance like weeding, mulching, dead heading and planting. We’ll also present a plant of the month to satisfy your educational yearnings! We hope you will come grow the community around these special gardens, a few hours at a time.

Jan 19 ~ Healing Garden Installation at Veteran’s Village - Join Daily Acts for at Community Housing Sonoma County, this new tiny home site will provide housing for one of our most vulnerable populations, previously homeless veterans. To help build community on-site and offer opportunity for both engagement among residents and space for quiet reflection, a beautiful healing garden was designed by our friends at Permaculture Artisans. With rain catchment through swales and rain gardens designed by Sherwood Design Engineers, native habitat plants, fruit trees and small gathering areas, we are creating a sustainable model.
