 Southeast Greenway ~ Bicycling “Mecca”
What does the Santa Rosa Southeast Greenway have in common with the increased popularity of bicycling in Santa Rosa? Cycling infrastructure included in the Southeast Greenway is the next important project to create a way to move around the Santa Rosa Plain on a bike without having to engage with cars. As our city continues to de ne itself as a cycling destination, Greenway bike paths will become an attraction for cyclists – both residents and visitors alike.

We are very close to completion of a General Plan Amendment for the Greenway, which will bring the goal of acquisition into clear sight. Currently the City’s consultant is conducting an additional tra c study to incorporate into the project’s Environmental Impact Report (EIR). We anticipate that a public comment period on this nal portion of the EIR will open in March, followed by a public hearing at the Planning Commission.
Once the General Plan Amendment for the Greenway is approved by
the Planning Commission this spring and adopted by the City Council, the Greenway Partners will have the Greenway property appraised and enter into negotiations with Caltrans. After so many years of discussion and professional planning, we are proud of the careful input Greenway supporters have contributed. Let’s keep up the good work!.
