    The Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival will screen 66 documentaries, including one U.S. premiere and two Academy Award® nominated films with screenings taking place at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, and the Rialto Cinemas® in Sebastopol.
 The festival will open with Bird of Prey, directed by Eric Liner, which documents Wildlife cinematographer Neil Rettig’s return to the Philippines as he embarks on a grueling expedition alongside a small but devoted group determined to protect the endangered Philippine eagle.

   For the seventh year in a row, Peer Pitch West will partner with SDFF. PPW
is an educational program where filmmakers can bring their documentary project, that is anywhere from
idea stage to completion, and practice pitching it in the safe space of a room
of fellow filmmakers and documentary lovers. Docs In Progress Executive Director Erica Ginsberg will facilitate the session Friday, March 24. Registration open.
