Sonoma County Integrated Parks Plan (SCIPP) ~ The Sonoma County Integrated Park Plan (SCIPP) is a strategic plan that establishes a vision to guide the ongoing and future work of the Regional Parks system. The vision outlined by the plan seeks to align Sonoma County’s parks and open spaces with local and regional economic, environmental, and community initiatives, while strengthening the mission of Sonoma County Regional Parks. 2016 All Year ~ Jack London Centennial Celebration ~ “Jack London State Historic Park--Discover Your Call of the Wild” is a special yearlong celebration of the life of Bay Area native son, Jack London. Each month, Jack London State Historic Park will present key events at the Park that highlight his inspiration and innovation. Jan 18 ~ Predicting How California Birds Will Be Impacted by Global Warming ~ First United Methodist Church, 1551 Montgomery Dr, Santa Rosa. 7-8:30p. Hosted by Madrone Audubon Society. Andrea Jones, Director of Bird Conservation, will discuss the science and how Audubon scientists created models to predict future ranges of almost 600 species of North American birds.

Area Christmas Bird Counts ~ National Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count is the longest running Citizen Science survey in the world. Audubon and other organizations use the data collected to assess the health of bird populations, which helps to guide conservation action. www.madroneaudubon.org
