Ongoing ~ History Museum of Sonoma County ~ The Fire Collection: Preserving our Stories In response to the firestorms that ravaged much of the North Bay region in October 2017, the Museums of Sonoma County have two projects in development. The Fire Project is about memory, expression and our shared experience of the firestorms of 2017. The creation of a permanent historical record of one of the most important and pivotal events in Sonoma County history is of great importance to us. We are collecting firestorm related objects and documents; the museum will curate exhibitions to commemorate our shared experience. How to submit: If you have an object, photograph, recording or other document that you believe is representative of the fires and would like the Museum to consider for the Fire Collection, please see the submission form and guidelines online. Coming Soon: The Fire Wall. In the very near future we will be inviting members of the community to share their stories and memories in this collective project. When completed, the Fire Wall will be a searchable, digital community. History Museum of Sonoma County, 425 Seventh St, Santa Rosa, 707-579-1500.
