Growth & Change - Messages from Peacetown
Just a reminder that Guerneville School will be on break from March 16th- 20th. Look out for all the youngsters in town crossing the streets.
For individuals, too, change is inevitable. But this is where I resist the most. I love my life and my routine (rut) and see no need to change or do something different. Even when there is a promise of renewal and resurgence, I grip tightly to the familiar, being afraid to let go of what has brought security (stagnation). It would be weird to try to hold onto Winter when Spring is pushing up from the Earth, and equally foolish to stop growing and evolving as a person as the Spirit within urges needed changes.
So, we have lots rollin on the river this month. Enjoy and I leave you with a quote, “You must be the change you want to see in the world” ~ Gandhi
My prayer is: “Let me open to receive and manifest the changes I need to make in my life, for the greater good of all.”
March 22

Anyone who doubts the inevitability of change need only to go outside on
one of these days and witness it for themselves. From the grey days of rainy, dark and cold, comes an explosion of warm colors and vibrant life.
Daffodils with their golden trumpets blare out the change, magnolia blossoms drip purple and white, the mustard spreads a carpet of lush yellow on the fields, and our dear apple blossoms remind us of the renewal that comes every spring.
That change is inevitable and expected, so we tend to take it for granted, but it also happens within other arenas.
Being a news junkie, I get caught up in our dark political mess that grips my attention and that of so many of us. We spend hours and days wringing our hands, being constantly stressed and seething at the latest episode on the nightly news. We are consumed by the drama, and perhaps feel more alive because we are resisting the onslaught of negativity that we perceive in our society. And in that perception we are consumed. But one little trip outside into the clean fresh air will remind us that “this too shall pass”.
I have been around long enough to know that the political pendulum keeps swinging, and the current arc has reached its apex. Change is coming.
