◦ Also call lap joint , is a joint between two
overlapping plates or component. Consist of a
approximately triangular cross section. Joining two
surface at right angle to each other

1. Transverse – When the direction of the weld is Single transverse
perpendicular to the direction of the forces fillet weld
acting on the joint
2. Parallel – Direction of the welding is parallel to the
direction of the force acting on the joint
