Strength of welded joint

◦ Under the proper condition , all steel can be welded, but best result will
be obtained if steel having

1. UNS – Choose steel material specification between G10141 and
G10230. All these steel have a tensile strength in the hot rolled

condition in the range of 410 to 480 MPa.

2. AISC -The permissible stresses are now based on the yield strength of

material. ASTM Yield Strength of varying from 230 to 340 MPa
