As we get together and celebrate the culmination of another successful campaign to raise research funds for City of Hope, I want to express my sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all of you for supporting ACCO Brands and City of Hope in our “ACCOmplishing Hope” campaign. I continue to marvel at the generosity of our business products industry and your commitment of time, effort, and money to support this wonderful cause. No pursuit is more noble than saving lives, and scientific remedies from City of Hope save millions of lives every year, with yet to be discovered therapeutics to save millions more in the future. Our donations fund the research that makes this possible. We are saving lives.
I would like to especially thank my current and former colleagues at ACCO Brands. I am so proud of the work we have done together and thankful for the support you have given me over all these years. This is another year when ACCO Brands will raise close to $2,000,000 to support City of Hope – a truly amazing achievement. I would like to recognize Bob Keller and Norm Wesley, both Spirit of Life® honorees and my predecessors at ACCO Brands, for being examples of how to lead a virtuous business life, doing well by doing good. And a special thanks goes to Tom Tedford and Carol Skulski for all their hard work to support this year’s campaign.
Harry Dochelli is our 2024 Spirit of Life® honoree, and I encourage all of us and our companies to support Harry’s and Essendant’s campaign. Cancer and diabetes don’t take a year off, and neither can we. Our support is needed until all forms of cancers and types of diabetes are cured, which, based on the rapid progress of medical research, is likely to happen in our lifetimes. Let’s recommit to this noble cause, because after all, we are saving lives.
