On behalf of the National Business Products Industry and the Essendant team, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you and congratulations to our 2023 Spirit of Life
Honoree, Boris Elisman, Chairman and CEO from ACCO Brands. Boris follows a long line of former honorees from ACCO Brands who have supported City of Hope over the past 41 years. We could not have named a more worthy honoree as we recognize his remarkable career and longstanding philanthropic support.
Boris has been an exemplary industry leader and City of Hope supporter for many, many years. He has also served on the National Business Products Council over the last decade. So it is no surprise that Boris has led an extraordinarily successful “ACCOmplishing Hope” fundraising campaign this year. Collectively, ACCO Brands activated support in every imaginable way and efforts raised over $2M for City of Hope:
• $100K in NPBI event participation.
• Hosting this year’s Honoree Golf Outing at Shoreacres as well as the annual ACCO Brands Golf Outing, which collectively raised over $550K this year!
• Two $100K sponsorships for City of Hope’s Direct Mail Corporate Matching Gift Program, which raised an astounding $1.3M this year!
• Critical non-event support programs activating support from ACCO Brands employees and customers which raised an additional $150K.
Lastly, I want to thank the thousands of NBPI executives and loyal City of Hope supporters across the country for their continued, generous support this year. In fact, during the last 41 years, our industry has raised over $255 million for City of Hope, which in turn fuels everything they do – research, clinical trials, talent, infrastructure – which results in speed to cure for those who desperately need it most.
Congratulations again to Boris and the ACCO Brands team. And to the entire NBPI community, I truly believe our collective support of City of Hope may very well be the most meaningful endeavor of our careers. Giving back is a huge part of who we are and I’m thankful to be a part of the City of Hope journey with you!
