Building Trust and Love TWhrough the Centuries
innie the Pooh is a best-selling classic children’s book, published
in 1926 and written by Author A. A. Milne and illustrated by E. H. Shepard. Through the years, the book has captured the hearts and minds of generation after generation.
In essence, Winnie the Pooh is a simple tale of friendship, loyalty, and perseverance. It teaches us that if we take time to listen to one another and Value People, we can conquer our fears and always find a positive path forward.
It may be surprising to hear, but when I think of Winnie the Pooh, I see a lot of parallels with both my life and with the history of Wawa. To begin, Winnie the Pooh is set in the fictional “Hundred Acre Wood,” a sort of magical forest inhabited by Winnie the Pooh and his friends. The Wood is visited regularly by a young boy named Christopher Robin who accompanies Pooh and his friends on their many adventures. The Hundred Acre Wood is used to embody the entire world of Winnie the Pooh — and what a world that became.
I too, grew up right down the road from where our Wawa Corporate Headquarters currently stands on many acres of land. Like Christopher
