Together, the Wawa Family put forth an unprecedented response to the COVID-19 Pandemic spanning 900 stores and led by the extraordinary efforts of more than 36,000 Associates. Driven by our core purpose of fulfilling lives, and a commitment to our Values, our Associates embraced and implemented change in record amounts and at record-setting speed never-before seen in the history of our Company. Serving as an essential provider, our Associates delivered care to our communities in a time of chaos. And... in the words of Associate Holli Cotrell from Store 5329, always with a “Smile Behind My Mask.”
These actions included: implementing hundreds of new protocols, process changes, and operational pivots; the acceleration of digital, delivery and curbside; sharing tasks, covering shifts and stores; and amplifying our already strong support of our communities through outreach, donations and providing a sense of normalcy to their day. And it was a true team effort as this response impacted every Associate, every community we serve, and every part of our Company.
Behind every change and action were moments of humanity
and resilience, of kindness and patience. And these are the actions that will never be forgotten by
our Wawa Family and in the communities we serve.
