The center’s museum also
includes more than 6,000
artifacts and photographs,
including the only identified
Holocaust Railcar in the world
and a U.S. Army Sherman
tank involved in liberating
concentration camps.
Once fundraising goals have
been met, the center plans to
open a redesigned and expanded
museum that will feature
innovative interactive exhibits
and be the first Holocaust center
in North America to offer its story
in both English and Spanish.
Renowned museum designer
Peter Gallagher, of Gallagher &
Associates, described being drawn
to the project because of the
opportunity to "keep the story
alive, from a personal, inside view,
as nothing is more powerful than
the first person testimonial."
