between 1981 and
2011. The state is
one of the most
literate states of
India with a literacy
rate of 83.78% as of
2011. Total literates in
Himachal Pradesh stands at 5,039,736 of which males were
2,752,590 and females were 2,287,146. In the rural areas is
4,471,736 and in the urban areas is 568,000
(Rural and Urban) Males: 2,752,590
(Rural and Urban) female: 2,287,146.
