2020 AND 2021 were particularly tough years
for Singapore as the impact caused by the virus
disrupted lives, and community activities came to a
standstill with strict Safety Management Measures
and restrictions on the movement.
We are fortunate to have a group of young leaders
who have gone through the NYAA programme, well
trained and motivated to make a difference in time
of need. The solution in our youth leaders’ minds is
resolved to find new ways to tackle problems of this
magnitude that disrupt lives, especially for the less
fortunate in society.
Members of the NYAA Gold Award Holders’ Alumni
(GAHA) wanted this real-life experience to spark
and deepen their desire to do something about it
collectively and individually. GAHA leveraged their
collective talents and skills to spear-headed many
community activities with the help of technology
to rally the community to help each other through
various innovative events and activities during the
COVID-19 pandemic.
