The system consists of IoT wireless sensors and cloud dashboards. Figure 14 shows the block diagram of the
proposed layout. The sensors detect the environmental temperature and send data to the cloud through a Wi-
Fi connection. The cloud acts as a centralized location to store the data for data analysis and visualization. When
there is an abnormality, such as a high temperature detected at the freezer, the cloud will send alerts to notify the
supervisor.

IoT Temperature Sensor Node: The sensor node consists
of a controller with a Wi-Fi connection and a waterproof
temperature sensor. This is a pre-wired and waterproofed
version of the DS18B20 temperature sensor. Handy for
when we need to measure something far away or in wet
conditions. Because they are communicating digitally,
we do not get any signal degradation even over long
distances.
These 1-wire digital temperature sensors are precise
(±0.5°C over much of the range) and can give up to 12
bits of precision from the onboard digital-to-analogue Figure 15: IoT temperature sensor node.
converter, suitable for interfacing to our controller board
(see Figure 15).
